This past Tuesday, October 1, 2013, a group of over 20 Ole Miss football players and their friends nearly shut down the Theatre department’s performance of The Laramie Project, a play based on the murder of Matthew Shepard, killed for being LGBTQ. The majority of the audience member not only shouted slurs such as “faggot,” and laughed during serious scenes, but photographed members of the audience and verbally harassed the cast members.Ole Miss has made no official statement other than to say, “they’re working on it,” and the Athletics Department will say nothing other than the students “didn’t know they were representing the school.” The only punishment for the students so far has been to apologize, and it was insincerely done. This is hate speech, and my school is doing nothing about it. They did nothing when white students literally ran a black student off of campus by keying KKK signs into his dorm room door & truck, and they are doing nothing now to protect and ensure a safe school environment for their LGBTQ students. Please, if you can share this, do so. Ole Miss has a habit of brushing away the bad things that happen on campus because they’d rather make money and win football games than actually care about their minority students. To voice your concern:Daily Mississippian School Newspaper Email: dmeditor@gmail.com Dean of Students Phone: (662) 915-7248Dean of Students Email: deanst@olemiss.eduAthletics Department Phone: (662) 915-7241

Now is the time to be pissed.

This is what gets me, this guy said all this shit and as far as I know, not a peep from the main stream media. If a liberal politician had said something similar it would be all over the “news” by now.

Holy shit. Yeah, if a democratic spokesperson had said something even half this vile it wouldve been all over fox news for days on end.

TRIGGER WARNING: Homophobia, Hate speech.

A Tennessee state lawmaker on Thursday claimed that HIV originated in the gay community by an airline pilot who had sex with monkey, and that it was “virtually impossible” to contract the disease through heterosexual sex.

Appearing on the Michelangelo Signorile Show on Sirius XM radio, State Senator Stacey Campfield (R-Knoxville) — author of Tennessee’s “Don’t Say Gay” bill that would prohibit teachers from mentioning homosexuality in kindergarten through 8th grade classrooms — also asserted that the lifespan for gays and lesbians is “very short,” telling listeners to “Google it yourself.”

He is scum and I can’t even comprehend the fact that he holds a public office.

Here’s the full article, with direct quote of his comments, which if anything are worse than you think.

He’s the same guy that was kicked out of the restaurant JUST LAST WEEK for being such a giant hateful bigot.

His sponsored and co-sponsored bills read like a laundry list of racist, anti-immigrant, anti-woman, anti-poor, anti-lgbtq propaganda.

Some of my favorites:

Education, Higher - As introduced, requires public postsecondary institutions to verify that applicants are citizens of the United States or are international students with a valid visa authorizing their stay in the United States.

Abortion - As introduced, requires all physicians’ offices that perform abortions to be licensed as ambulatory surgical treatment centers.

Welfare - As introduced, requires TANF recipients to be tested for illegal drugs; restricts eligibility for benefits for one year after testing positive for an illegal drug.

Education, Curriculum - As introduced, prohibits the teaching of or furnishing of materials on human sexuality other than heterosexuality in public school grades K-8.

Domestic Violence - As introduced, requires victim of domestic violence filing for order of protection and respondent to attend one hour of domestic violence counseling prior to hearing on the order

Education - As introduced, requires students who score below proficient on TCAP test or do not demonstrate competency on end-of-course examination to attend summer school or receive tutoring in the subject tested at the expense of the student’s parent and be retested prior to being promoted or receiving credit for course.

Welfare - As introduced, requires the reduction of Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) payments for parents or caretakers of TANF recipients whose children fail to maintain satisfactory progress in school.

Unemployment Compensation - As introduced, requires drug testing of persons filing new claims for unemployment benefits.

Constitutional Amendments - Requests Congress to submit to the states for ratification an amendment to the US Constitution prohibiting unfunded federal mandates and programs except during declared fiscal emergency.

Constitutional Amendments - As introduced, memorializes Congress to propose an amendment to the United States Constitution that would authorize states to rescind certain federal laws. **coughabortioncough**

Constitutional Amendments - Proposes new provision to Article I to provide that nothing in Constitution of Tennessee secures or protects right to abortion or requires the funding of an abortion; states that the people retain the right through their elected state representatives and state senators to enact, amend, or repeal statutes regarding abortion, including, but not limited to, circumstances of pregnancy resulting from rape or incest or when necessary to save the life of the mother. -

I have another blog on wordpress (Female is an Ism) it’s exclusively just feminist issues I feel strongly about, some of it’s original stuff some of it is reblogs I feel are important and want to put out there.

It’s important to me and I guess thats why I take really horrible trolls (well, one individual troll who just spams all my posts with hateful tripe) kind of personally. I responded to his first comments (mistake? maybe) but they were about abortion and frankly i thought it needed to be addressed.

His second comment I posted herebut ignored and deleted on word press. I was and am super torn about whether to respond to it. It’s again hateful, aggressive, and really just rude. My dilemma is whether I have some responsibility to try to educate this asshat on the issue. But he clearly doesn’t want a civil dialogue, not even a debate. I woke up this morning with my wordpress dash spammed with more hateful crap from him:

You’re an idiot if you believe that.

There is plenty of evidence to suggest that homosexuality is associated with mental illness. Do I necessarily believe it? No, I don’t. And frankly, I couldn’t care less. But the idea of punishing health professionals for not conforming to the Leftist-credo is about as Nazi as you can get.

Feminazis: Bring You Hate Since 1968.

On this post.

This is retarded. You’re actually giving tips to perpetrators, as if they give a shit what some Feminazi has to say? Unreal.

People who beat and rape women are mentally ill, or else evil. Those tips are going to go in one ear and out the other.

Stupid.

On this post.

Sleep around much?

On this post

Oh, would you shut the hell up – please!

Because some idiot labeled a form of advertising “To Cs In A Kitchen,” that means all mean hate women?

I think you hate men, to be honest. You disguise your hate by pretending to stick up for women.

I also noticed that you don’t approve any of my comments. How very liberal of you — to censor speech and all.

(Last one) on this post

So clearly I need no help to rip apart the sexism, ableism, hate speech, homophobia, and just blatant trolling with complete disregard for the content/meaning of the posts. But should I respond? ‘Don’t feed the trolls’ or “Yell loudly and forcefully the truth until the troll gives up’?

Thoughts?

Here’s his blog btw: http://americanlibertarian.wordpress.com/
